| ABOUT US SDP International is a dynamic platform that offers opportunities to network, campaign, and advocate for immigrants in Finland. Launched by SDP Helsinki and SDP Uusimaa in 2023, this initiative aims to break down barriers and foster political engagement, participation, and integration among immigrant communities. Our key goals include: Reducing language barriers for political participation Building a nationwide network of active members Creating English-language content to engage the international community Supporting and training immigrant leaders within SDP Sharing information about elections and events Increasing immigrant membership in the party Establishing a branch focused on international issues, events, and campaigns Celebrating cultural diversity Advocating for and protecting immigrant rights Call for Candidates – Join the SDP International Board The SDP International Board will include: The Presidium (three chairs, representing local branches) Four additional board members who will support key activities such as communications, events, secretarial duties, and member engagement Interested in becoming a board member? Submit your application using this form by May 1st. Candidate profiles will be shared with all SDP International members after the deadline. Selection Process – May 17 Meeting At our meeting on May 17, we will elect: Three Interim Presidium Members Since local branches are still being established, we will elect interim chairs for now. These roles will be passed on to elected branch chairs once the branches in Helsinki, Espoo, and Vantaa are officially formed. Note: Each branch will elect its own chair independently; being chosen as an interim chair does not guarantee election as a branch chair. Four Additional Board Members We’re looking for candidates from diverse backgrounds to support communications, organizing events, managing membership, and more. Together, the Presidium and additional board members will lead the project, organizing meetings, events, and outreach. Board elections will be held annually. Questions?
